Description

The small motor launch, Sweetpea, was originally converted for use as a general runabout and tow for whalers (clinker-built double-enders in the traditional Navy style), at the Sydney Training Depot at Snapper Island, Sydney, N.S.W.

This painting features Sweetpea during her 2017 rebuild at the Naval Heritage Repository, Spectacle Island, Sydney, with shipwright, David Glasson, demonstrating one aspect of the ribbing procedure after the timber has been steamed to make it more pliable.
