Description

Built in the late 1970s, ‘Mischa’ is the pride & joy of its owner, Daniel, for whom this artwork was originally commissioned by his wife, Sarah, as a birthday surprise in 2019.

Sarah also requested their home, on which her husband had poured so much love and workmanship to restore, be visible in the layout, which was no mean feat!

Assuming a great view of both boat and house would be visible from Rivercat – a fast catamaran-style ferry that runs all the way up the Parramatta River, until it detoured, far away from the target, tucked away in Yaralla Bay!

Ultimately, my darling partner, armed with my thumbnail sketch, and who understands the light and dramatic angles required by me to make a great painting, sailed up-river in the early morning and took shots all around the boat, on my behalf, especially it’s mooring vicinity to the client’s house, et voila!
