Leonard E. ‘Len’ Forsythe was the man responsible for setting up the original Sydney Training Depot on Snapper Island by 1929.

Len’s Boxer dog, Cheetah, became Snapper Island’s mascot. Sadly, apart from a small handful of old photos I haven’t found any information about this little chap. So it’s a genuine pleasure to bring Cheetah in his natural island habitat back to life through the painted portrait. Watch this space!
